For a Ugandan citizen travelling to Kenya by bus, you will need either a valid Passport or a National ID card.

Citizens of the East African Community (EAC) can use a national ID for movement between the member states, but you may also be given a temporary Interstate Pass at the border to use instead of a visa.

Documents You Will Need:

  • Valid Passport or National ID: You must have either a passport or a national identity card to cross the border into Kenya.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate: You will need a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate for entry into Kenya.

Additional Information:

  • No Visa Required: As a Ugandan citizen, you do not need a visa to travel to Kenya, as both are EAC member states.
  • Interstate Pass: You will be given an Interstate Pass at the border, which serves as a travel document.
  • Validity: Ensure your passport or ID is valid for your travel dates.
  • Yellow Fever: A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory and should be carried for border crossings, as it is a requirement for entry.
