- Apply at the UDLS: Visit the UDLS Main Branch or a regional office in person with the following documents:
- Original National ID
- Certificate of Completion from the driving school
- Certificate of Competence
- Proof of payment for the license
- Pay the Fee: Pay the 100,000 UGX fee for a one-year license at a participating bank (like Diamond Trust Bank or Bank of Africa), PayWay, or via mobile money.

- The Licence: What you need is a standard driving license, not a specific "rider's permit".
- Mandatory Training: The government mandates that all motorcycle riders complete training from a licensed driving school to ensure they are properly qualified.
